Montana native. My parents were living at Babb, Montana, when I was born.

Happily married 51 years; 6 children, all of whom attended and graduated from Billings schools.

Own real property in Yellowstone County.

Honorably discharge United States Navy Veteran.

JD (Law), University of Montana.

I am licensed to practice law in both Montana and Washington.  I am eligible to be admitted to practice in Oregon, Idaho, and Utah.

Representative Montana Legislature (2001-2002, 2006-2012);

Member of Judiciary Committee (three terms; 2009 term served as Vice Chair);

Member of Education Committee (2001);

Member of Human Services Committee (2007 and 2009);

Member of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Committee (2007 and 2009);

Member of State and Local Government Committee (2001);

Member of the State Tribal Relations Committee (interim; 2001-2010);

Appointed as member of the Governor’s abstinence Council.

Chairman Montana Probation and Parole Board through 2005;

Chairman Billings Board of Adjustment;

Member of Billing’s Downtown Rotary 28 Years;

Billings City Attorney 6 years – represented the City in various matters about 20 years;

Attorney for the Public Utilities and Billings Airport;

Served as interim City Administrator for City of Billings;

Candidate for SD2 trustee.
 

Work Experience

Attorney, 43 years – have represented persons and businesses in a variety of matters over the years.  Have represented families, farmers, ranchers, cities, insurance companies.

Worked in the Aerospace industry for about 3 years.

Worked in sales after graduating from undergraduate school.

During college and high school worked in farming, ranching, construction and retail.

I understand the concerns and problems the working people face.
 

Activities

Outdoors man who loves to hunt and fish.

Have raised cattle, horses and believe in the Montana way of life.

Raised in and love the mountains, lakes, and rivers of Montana.
